Last night we went and saw The Lion King Broadway show. It was spectacular! I had seen it before back in 2006, and it was just as great as I remembered it. Our seats were quite close and center, and honestly, the price we paid was worth it, especially since Mike was seeing it for the first time.
Because it was a special night out, I finally got to wear this amazing dress that I received from eShakti, an online retailer that allows you to customize not only your fit but also the style. I’ve been wanting to try this company out for years now, and I am so pleased to have finally had the chance to.
I picked the Alexandra dress which I thought would be perfect for the holidays with its double layer tulle skirt. If you click the link, you’ll see the original dress has a totally different neckline and no sleeves, but because I got to customize it, I changed the style to feature a boatneck and half sleeves. It came with pockets and those little bra snaps that are awesome without even needing to ask for them (big plus!).
This dress was also made exactly to my measurements, which makes it fit better than any dress I’ve ever tried on. Being petite usually means something isn’t exactly right, but eShakti allowed me to adjust for my height and shorter limbs. The only adjustment I’d want to make is to the sleeves, which I’d have preferred more fitted, but they hit me in just the right spot, so I’m not too bummed about it.
For a night out I thought I’d style this dress with a less-is-more approach. The black heels are one of my favorites, ever, and I can’t believe I’ve had them since early 2008 (I wish forever21 still made things that last that long!). I’m looking forward to trying different things with this dress throughout the upcoming holidays.
Have you ever tried out a customized clothing retailer like eShakti? What was your experience like? If not, what are your thoughts about trying it out?
